The 3 Rivers Limbhangers/Tulsa Metro Chapter of the NWTF is holding their annual Women in the Outdoors event (WITO). Women who seek outdoor adventures or more quality time with family and friends will find that connection through hundreds of Women in the Outdoors events hosted by NWTF chapters around the United States. Events are affordable and offer outdoor activities such as archery, shotgunning and various introduction to hunting classes. The Hughes County Strutters and the National Wild Turkey Federation of Oklahoma want to invite you to participate in the hunting event of the year, the 1st Annual Oklahoma Wild Turkey Hunting State Championship! This event will be state wide with the opportunity for the young and old to see who can bag Oklahoma's Biggest Gobbler! Scoring will be based on the NWTF's turkey scoring system and cash prizes will be awarded to Oklahoma's biggest overall bird(beard+spurs+weight), and side pots on heaviest bird, longest spur, and longest beard. Each hunter will have the chance to enter 3 birds with each bird being scored individually. Judges will be located state wide and hunters must check bird in same day by certified judge. The best part is you have all of Oklahoma turkey season to nail that longbeard! Entries must be in no later than 5 pm on March 30th. Each hunter will receive a NWTF membership if they don't already have one and with proof of a current NWTF membership a $35 discount will be applied to entry fee. Youth hunters will receive a JAKES membership with their entry.

Make-A-Wish® Oklahoma is thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Shooting Stars Sporting Clay Challenge to fund the heartfelt wishes of Oklahoma children.


We invite you to join us another year at this first-class shooting experience. Shooting Stars is open to men and women and entails a fun and relaxing day spent outdoors with great food, shooting clays, and live auction items. Participants will come together to raise funds to help grant wishes for children, here in Oklahoma, battling life-threatening medical conditions.


The 2nd Annual Shooting Stars Sporting Clay Challenge will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Silverleaf Shotgun Sports in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The challenge will consist of teams of five shooters, targeting clays that simulate game birds and test each shooter’s skill and accuracy.

Celebrate Spring and wetlands at the annual Hackberry Flat Day in southwest Oklahoma near the town of Frederick from 9 am to 2:30 pm. Scheduled tours will take you and the family into the wetlands at Hackberry Flat to look at shorebirds, ducks, frogs, dragonflies, water boatmen and more. Come and go activities include Bats of Oklahoma with Alabaster Caverns State Park, walk-in butterfly exhibit, waterfowl ID game, and a chance to visit with a falconer and his live bird. The Oklahoma Game Warden's "Wall of Shame" will be on exhibit and the very popular Chuck wagon will have samples of yummy food. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the wetlands at Hackberry Flat!

This tournament is for Catfish. Rod & Reel only. 2 person team - boat or bank. Check in is at Woody's Bait & Tackle at 5 a.m. for a country breakfast. Safety meeting on the steps at 6 a.m. Start fishing at 7 a.m. stop at 4 p.m. Be at Feyodi Park before 5 p.m. to check in and get your weigh-in ticket. Weigh in starts at 5 p.m. A polygraph will be given to the top 3 places. The ceremony will begin after that.

Cost $80.00 per team if paid by April 1st. After that it is $100.00 Big fish $10.00. Payout will be $2,000.00 for first place in celebration of the 10th year anniversary of the tournament. (normally $1,000) There will be payout and or prizes to the 10th place. The city of Cleveland is joining us this year to make it an all day affair. Event will take place this coming May 19th, 20th, & 21st on Keystone Lake for veterans and an Armed Forces Day Celebration. This is the second year to host the event at Keystone Lake. The event is an all-inclusive camping weekend for veterans. We provide camping equipment, fishing gear, all food and drinks for veterans to come and relax with fellow veterans. This year for the main event open to the public on May 20th, Armed Forces Day, CrossTimbers Marina has teamed up with us and will be putting on a large fireworks show at dark choreographed with patriotic music broadcasted from Big Country 99.5 FM out of Tulsa. The fundraising event on Armed Forces Day will be a public BBQ feed, live music festival on an outdoor stage, vendors, special appearances by Miss Oklahoma Sarah Klein and outdoor TV celebrity guest from the Sportsman Channel. A fishing derby is planned for the veterans with fishing guides and there will be a separate kids fishing derby that will take place on land sponsored by the Honey Hole Bait Store in Mannford. All proceeds from the event go to Wounded Veterans of Oklahoma, a 501C3 non-profit organization headquartered out of Tulsa.
