4 & 5: Southern Plains Traditional Archery Championships at McAlester Army Ammunition Depot hosted by Backwoods Bowhunters. Books open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. Saturday will be recurves & long bows and self bows on Sunday. Classes are mens, womens, youth and cub. New class is Senior 60 years old and over. All rounds $15.00. Cubs shoot for free. There are arrow restrictions on longbow and self bow but not on recurve. 6: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Regular Commission Meeting.  Meetings are held monthly at the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Building (auditorium), 1801 N. Lincoln, Oklahoma City, OK at 9:00 a.m.

11: The 5th Annual Sportsmen’s Beast Feast will be held  at the Muskogee Civic Center Arena, doors open at 5:00 PM event begins at 6:00 PM. This year BOOM Outdoors is proud to present BASS Master Elite Series Angler, Edwin Evers! Edwin is consistently ranked as one of the top 5 bass fishermen in the world! 18: OKNAVHDA Training Day. OKNAVHDA is the local chapter to NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association) and conducts monthly dog training events including Upland Field work, Waterfowl Retrieving, and Tracking. We welcome guests to come out and see what our training days are all about. 22: Land, water and wildlife habitat conservation opportunities workshop for private landowners and  professionals. Interested in creating wildlife habitat on your property? How about soil or water conservation practices? You are
invited to attend this workshop to learn about technical and financial assistance programs that are available to landowners in south central Oklahoma and north central Texas. The workshop will be held at the SOuthern Oklahoma technology Center in Ardmore. Registration fee is $10 and includes lunch. 25: Seventh Annual Central Oklahoma 89er Chapter of Quail Forever fundraising banquet will be held at the Sportsman’s Country Club. Banquet starts at 6:00 pm.  Quail Forever, a non-profit habitat conservation organization, was founded in 2005 in response to the continuing decline of quail populations locally and throughout their natural range, working hand in with ODWC and OSU research biologists. 26: Oklahoma Wildlife Management Association (OWMA) Sporting Clay Event at Silverleaf Shotgun Sports in Guthrie, OK. Members are welcome and encouraged to bring any number of guests that are interested in joining the OWMA upon arrival.  If you are a current member of the OWMA-$100 per adult shooter, $60 per youth shooter - 18 and under (additional non-shooting guests $35). If you joined in 2012, your first Sporting Clay Event is complimentary.
