4: Oklahoma Furbearers Association Fur Sale at Chandler Expo Center. All wild furs are accepted, furs can be stretched and dried, green or on the carcass. 9: The OKTU/TFF February Fly Tying Extravaganza and Swap Meet. Fly tying demonstrations from some of the areas finest fly tiers. Beginners can learn hands on at various fly tying work stations. (trout, pan fish and bass tying stations.) PLUS, bring your new, your old and tradable fly fishing equipment to sell and or swap. Meetings are held at the Hardesty Public Library (8316 E. 93rd St. on the North side of the Creek Turnpike off Memorial Drive) meetings are freeE and open to the public. Meetings begin at 6:30 PM. 7: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Regular Commission Meeting. Meeting will be held on the campus of Oklahoma State University, Stillwater.
11: Hackberry Flat Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The biologist on duty will be happy to visit with visitors about wildlife in the area or this unique wetland area.
11: The Bowhunting Council of Oklahoma is having their annual Expo and Awards Banquet at the Expo Center on Hwy 270 West in McAlester Oklahoma. The Expo kicks off with a meet and greet session beginning at 8:00 Saturday morning followed by a business meeting which begins at 9:00 and runs to approximately 10:30. Seminars begin immediately following the business meeting and run till approximately noon when we break for lunch. Lunch which is a dutch treat is available on site at the Expo Center. The seminars pick up again at 1:30 and run till approximately 4:30. There will be many vendors with products and demonstrations at the trade show which runs all day long. The evening highlight is the banquet and awards ceremony which begins at 6:30. There will be raffles, auctions and door prizes so bring the whole family out and join the fun. Tickets for the banquet can be purchased at the door for $25.00 per adult and $15.00 for children under twelve. So come on out and support your bowhunting heritage at the Bowhunting Council of Oklahoma’s annual Expo and Awards Banquet.

18: The Nature Center located at the Watchable Wildlife Area will be open from 9 am – 3 pm. The biologist on duty will be happy to visit with visitors about wildlife in the area or take a walk with you on the nature trail. Hours will be 9 am to 3 pm.

18: Traditional Spoon Carving at Oxley Nature Center, Tulda from
9:00-3:30 p.m. For ages: 16 to Adult. Fee: $20 for general
public, $15 for members. Using shaving horses, chisels, mallets,
spoke shaves, and crook knives we will turn locally reclaimed
wood into a useful and beautiful item. You must register in

21: Bob Walshaw will present a hands on Bluebird program including how to deal with the killer house sparrows at Bass Pro Shops in Broken Arrow at 7 p.m. This event will be held in the upstairs seminar room, is free and open to the public and door prizes will be awarded. 23: Bob Walshaw will host a Predator Calling Seminar at Bass Pro Shops in Broken Arrow at 7 p.m. in the upstairs seminar room. Scott Ruff will cover Bobcat calling and Travis Alzate will cover Coyote calling. Both men are expert predator hunters, videographers and seminar presenters with many years of multi-state ecperience. 24 & 25: Illinois River Fly Fishing school at the Community Center at Tenkiller State Park on the Illinois River. The course costs$150.00 and meals cost $30. Lodging arrangements can be made through Tenkiller State Park by calling (918) 489-5643. One of the country's premiere fishing instructors Mark Patton will offering in-depth information about equipment, flies, casting and on stream instruction. Participants attend a Friday night orientation and session on equipment and flies. Sessions on casting and stream instruction will be held on the banks of the Illinois River.
