Screen does not display or only partly

Internet speed

Some dialups (phone modems) are not fast enough to transfer the large image files quick enough.

Internet Browser not supported

Upgrade browser.  Browser types supported include Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox and Opera all of which can be upgraded via the internet.

Atlas is slow

Internet speed

Some dialups (phone modems) are not fast enough to transfer the large files quick enough.

Pink Screen

Internet Browser not supported

Upgrade browser.  Browser types supported include Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox and Opera all of which can be upgraded via the internet.

Using a Macintosh

The latest version of Internet Explorer may work; however, as a general rule the Digital Atlas does not work on Macintosh computers because of the platform language.

“The page cannot be displayed”

Site down

Try back later.  At times access to the site maybe down due to upgrades, housekeeping or the server being down.

Cannot Print

Need Adobe Reader

The maps are printed as a pdf and therefore Adobe Reader needs to be saved on the computer

Pop-ups are blocked

Allow pop-ups from the site. 

Printing differs from screen

None

During printing the dimensions are changed because the screen dimensions differ from the page.

Printing fuzzy

None

At this time the technology only allows us to print at this resolution.

Cannot find the photos

Table of Content collapsed

Click on “Imagery” in the Table of Content

Not zoomed-in enough

Zoom in further.  Due to size and speed constraints the aerial photos only become available at a fixed zoom.

WMA boundaries not showing

“WMA Boundaries” is not selected

In the Table of Contents the box located next to “WMA Boundaries” must be “checked” to show the boundaries.

WMA symbols not present

“WMA Management Features” and/or “WMA Facilities & Access” not selected

In the Table of Contents the boxes located next to “WMA Management Features” and/or “WMA Facilities & Access” must be “checked” to show the boundaries.

Don’t know what the map symbols mean

Map Legend not displayed

Click on the “View Map Legend” button on the tool bar (second form the bottom on the right-hand side).

Hotlink (lightning bolt) not working

Pop-ups blocked

Allow pop-ups from the site. 

Not clicking on a supported target

Only WMAs and National Wildlife Refuges boundaries are supported by the Hotlink

Tool(s) not working

Pop-ups blocked

Allow pop-ups from the site.

WMA roads are not present

Data incomplete

The roads data file is outdated and incomplete.  We will be creating a new road map for the WMAs as time allows.
