1: Dove season opens. Consult the hunting guide for limits dates for the southwest zone.
4-5: Oklahoma Free Hunting days. For Oklahoma residents, a hunting license and HIP permit are not required.
6: Holiday - State Offices Closed.
7: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Regular Commission Meeting. Meetings are held monthly at the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Building (auditorium), 1801 N. Lincoln, Oklahoma City, OK at 9:00 am.
9-10: 2010 Joint Meeting of the Oklahoma Chapter of the Wildlife Society and Bollenbach Wildlife Symposium at the Stillwater Plaza Hotel (corner of Perkins Road and McElroy, Stillwater). The state meeting will coincide with a patch burning workshop on the morning of September 9th. Please attend if you are able. The meeting sessions will include invited speakers, a student paper competition, and a fund-raising raffle for the Chapter at this meeting. 11: Oklahoma Outdoor Outreach Foundation Youth Trap Shoot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shoot will be held at Tri-City Gun Club Norman Ok. Participants must provide their own shotgun. 11: The Tulsa Metro Women in the Outdoors event Camp Okiwanee, west of Sapulpa, Ok. This event is for women who are 14 or older. WITO is designed to let ladies try hands on outdoors skills, taught by experts, in an friendly environment. We have 24 classes to choose from. This is a one day event. Classes start at 8:00am and end at 7:00 pm. We have overnight lodging for those Ladies who have to travel. You can download an registration by going to womenintheoutdoors.org , click on events. 16: The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation will conduct a White-Tailed Deer Management Workshop at the Bruton Seminar Center within the Gordon Cooper Technology Center in Shawnee from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participation is limited to the first 45 registrants. 18: Duck blind drawing for waterfowl hunting blinds on Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation Reservoirs. Registration for Ft. Gibson Drawing begins at 7 a.m., for Eufaula Lake at 9:30 a.m. and Webbers Falls at 12 p.m.
21: The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation will conduct a White-Tailed Deer Management Workshop at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in McAlester from 10:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Preregistration is required and participation is limited to the first 45 registrants. 23: The Oklahoma City Ducks Unlimited Chapter is having a Waterfowl Hunters Party at the Chesapeake Boat House, 725 S. Lincoln , (around the corner from the Bass Pro Shop). We will start at 6 p.m. and be finished by 8:30 p.m. Prizes, drawings (over 70 boxes of decoys), food, beer, soft drinks, a silent auction and a one year membership to Ducks Unlimited for only $25.00. Greenwings, youngsters under 18, are $15.00 each. Also, discounted tickets for our November Banquet at the Western Heritage Museum will be on sale at the Waterfowl Hunters Party. 24: Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation standardized employment exam at Rose State College. Testing begins at 10 a.m. No one will be admitted after that time. A photo ID is required for admission. For more information click here.

Hunting or Fishing Trip from The Oklahoma Station Chapter of SCI. For only the
months of June through September, SCI’s Oklahoma Station Chapter (“SCI/OSC”) is
running a very special program for new and existing members a give-away of six
trips: Oklahoma waterfowl hunting, Kansas pheasant hunting, Alaska fishing (two
trips), Namibia hunting, and Macedonia hunting. The trips range in value from
$1,200 to $10,000, and SCI/OSC intends to give away all six...over $25,000 worth
in all.
