STEP 10: What Now?

The drawing is held in July. Results will be posted on our Web site July 9, 2008 at 8 a.m. Applicants not chosen to participate will not be notified. Hunters chosen to participate will receive the necessary instructions in the mail, including the date and location of the hunt. All participants must be properly licensed.

What Happens After the Drawing?

Applicants may check to see if they were selected for a controlled hunt beginning July 9, 2008. Printed lists will not be available. Computer terminals are available to check the drawing results at most local libraries and will be available to the public at the following ODWC offices, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted: Unfortunately, we cannot answer telephone inquiries regarding controlled hunt outcomes.

What happens if I'm Drawn? (Information on Permits and Federal Area User Fees)

NEW FOR 2008: All maps and hunt information will be available online, and will not be mailed. Successful applicants may print this information by viewing their results and paying required fees.

Once fees are paid, maps and hunt information will be available for printing from our website.

Successfully drawn hunters will be officially notified by mail only; non-selection notices will not be sent. Controlled hunt payments must be made with one of the following: cashier’s check, money order, or Visa/MasterCard (no personal checks will be accepted).

Payments must be received or postmarked by the Payment Due Date. No exceptions will be made. Money will not be accepted at the hunt site.

What happens if I'm not drawn?

Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified by mail, but will be awarded a preference point which will increase their odds of drawing a hunt the next time they apply.
