"Outdoor Oklahoma" Wants to Showcase Your Photos
Wouldn't it be great if one of  your photos was published in an award-winning magazine? That could happen when you participate in "Outdoor Oklahoma" magazine's Readers' Photography Showcase competition.
The official magazine of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is accepting entries through April 15 in its annual contest that celebrates the bestphotographic efforts of our readers.
"This is one of our most anticipated and most beautiful issues all year," said Don P. Brown, managing editor. "What's neat is that you can be a part of it, if one of your photos is selected for publication."
Magazine editors and Wildlife Department staff members will select the "best of the best" to appear in our July/August issue.
"The Readers' Photography Showcase has become a way for us to thank our faithful readers while at the same time sharing the beauty and fascination that can be found outdoors in Oklahoma."
The judges will be selecting dozens of the best images from a range of subjects relating to Oklahoma's outdoors. Subjects can be animals, plants, scenics, people enjoying nature - most anything relating to the outdoors. The photos should have been taken in Oklahoma.
Each participant may submit up to four original digital images online atwildlifedepartment.com/out_ok/reader.htm. Each submission must include a description of the photo, location taken, photographer's name and hometown, and a brief description of what it took to get the right shot. Photos should be in sharp focus, and image resolution should be at least 300 dpi (dots per inch) for printing in the magazine.
"The Readers' Photo Showcase always features some amazing and awe-inspiring work. It is something that shouldn't be missed," Brown said. The full-color, high-quality "Outdoor Oklahoma" magazine is among the best magazine values around. For more than 70 years, it has provided wildlife conservation news and entertainment to generations of Oklahomans. Subscriptions are only $10 for one year, $18 for two years, or $25 for three years. To get your subscription started, call (800) 777-0019 or go online totinyurl.com/OutdoorOklahoma.
The April 15 deadline is approaching fast, so don't wait! Grab your camera, get outdoors to bring back an awesome photo to enter in the Readers' Photography Showcase contest. We look forward to seeing your best photos and to sharing the best with our readers.
