Student Opportunities

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation works with various partners to enhance Oklahoma's fish and wildlife resources. Many of these partner groups offer college scholarships and travel stipends for students.

NATIVE STUDENT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Individuals selected for this program will receive funds to help cover registration fees for the Wildlife Society Conference, lodging, meals, and transportation to and from the conference. Program participants will also receive a one-year membership in TWS and become members of the TWS Native People’s Wildlife Management Working Group (NPWMWG).

MINORITIES IN NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION

The Minorities in Natural Resources Conservation (MINRC) is a subcommittee of the Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (SEAFWA). It is actively seeking minority students to participate in the annual Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (SEAFWA) Conference.

LAW ENFORCEMENT CHIEFS SCHOLARSHIP

Annually, SEAFWA’s Law Enforcement Chief’s Scholarships are awarded to students who advocate for wildlife conservation. There are three scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each available to deserving students.  This award is intended for students with a passion for the outdoors and an interest in the management and protection of fish and wildlife resources. The scholarship will assist students who are currently studying wildlife, fisheries, or law enforcement.
