Description:

The Cherokee Strip Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will host their annual banquet at 312 E. Oxford to raise money for projects that conserve wildlife and preserve Oklahomas hunting heritage.


Dinner starts at 7pm, but arrive at 5:30pm to enjoy a social hour before the banquet begins.

Families can play games and enter raffles to win up to 11 guns including a Beretta A300 Outlander 12ga, pistols, rifles, and other shotguns. There also will be silent and live auctions for exclusive framed art, guns, collectibles, sculptures home furnishings and more.

Oklahoma Station Chapter of Safari Club International (OSCSCI) will hold its annual Gala Banquet and Fundraising Auction on March 18, 2017. The location for this year’s banquet is the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Norman which will provide expanded seating, additional event happenings and increased outfitter and vendor space. Tickets for the banquet will include dinner, drinks and the opportunity to bid on over 30 exciting hunts and fishing trips in the United States and around the world with furs, jewelry, and beautiful statues available too. Some of the many hunting trips which are available include African Safaris, South America for birds and big game, Scotland big game, pheasant hunting in Kansas, antelope in Wyoming, and deer hunts in Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. Fishing trips include Costa Rica and Alaska. Also, the attendees could win many different guns, guns and more guns, as well as items from our silent auction, corner and ticket games for a variety of hunting and sporting items.


Safari Club International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of wildlife, education of the people, and the protection of hunters’ rights. The Oklahoma Station Chapter translates donations and proceeds from the banquet and other events into education, conservation, support for the Wildlife Department and other high impact items in Oklahoma and around the world. OSCSCI protects the freedom of Oklahoma hunters to hunt and 80% of all funds earned from our fundraising efforts stay right here in Oklahoma. Oklahoma hunters have a need to protect their freedom to hunt and attending the banquet is one way to do this. It is extremely important for all hunters to protect our hunting heritage. It is a battleground out there! Come join the battle by attending the OSCSCI banquet and have a great time while preserving the heritage of hunting for yourself and future generations.

This event will be state wide with the opportunity for the young and old to see who can bag Oklahoma's Biggest Gobbler! Scoring will be based on the NWTF's turkey scoring system and cash prizes will be awarded to Oklahoma's biggest overall bird(beard+spurs+weight), and side pots on heaviest bird, longest spur, and longest beard. Each hunter will have the chance to enter 3 birds with each bird being scored individually. Judges will be located state wide and hunters must check bird in same day by certified judge. The best part is you have all of Oklahoma turkey season to nail that longbeard! Entries must be in no later than 5 pm on March 30th. Each hunter will receive a NWTF membership if they don't already have one and with proof of a current NWTF membership a $35 discount will be applied to entry fee. Youth hunters will receive a JAKES membership with their entry.

This tournament is for Catfish. Rod & Reel only. 2 person team - boat or bank. Check in is at Woody's Bait & Tackle at 5 a.m. for a country breakfast. Safety meeting on the steps at 6 a.m. Start fishing at 7 a.m. stop at 4 p.m. Be at Feyodi Park before 5 p.m. to check in and get your weigh-in ticket. Weigh in starts at 5 p.m. A polygraph will be given to the top 3 places. The ceremony will begin after that.

Cost $80.00 per team if paid by April 1st. After that it is $100.00 Big fish $10.00. Payout will be $2,000.00 for first place in celebration of the 10th year anniversary of the tournament. (normally $1,000) There will be payout and or prizes to the 10th place. The city of Cleveland is joining us this year to make it an all day affair.
