This booklet is a summary of Titles 29 and 800 of the Oklahoma Statutes governing Fish and Wildlife laws as established by the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission and contains those rules that affect the average hunter. It is not a legal document. For a complete listing of official regulations, you can obtain copies of current Oklahoma Statutes through your local library.
HIGHLIGHTS OF HUNTING REGULATION CHANGES
The following are brief descriptions of regulation changes for 2009-2010 seasons. Although this section is a handy reference, you still must be familiar with all laws that apply to a particular season. For more details, please consult the appropriate regulations in this publication.
• Antlerless deer opportunities have expanded in Zones 7 and 8.
• Two new areas are open to hunting, Cimarron Hills WMA and Ouachita- Cucumber Creek Unit.
• An antelope archery season has been established.
• Elk hunting opportunities have expanded.
• Bear archery and bear muzzleloader seasons have been established.
• The pheasant limit has been increased to three cocks daily.
• Furbearer season has been extended. .
• The statewide dove season (excluding the southwest zone) has expanded to 70 days.
• The special provisions for the Resident Canada Goose season have been removed.
• The Fishing & Hunting Legacy permit has been combined with regular licenses and will no longer require a separate purchase.
• The Hulah Waterfowl Refuge Portion (WRP) no longer exists, it is now part of the Hulah Wildlife Management Area.
