MAY 5: Proper Tournament Fish Care workshop at the Broken Arrow Bass Pro Shop. This workshop will cover the correct method to catch and release bass. It will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Seminar Room. 6: Leave No Trace at the Broken Arrow Bass Pro shop. Learn the principles of leave no trace that every back packer should know before embarking on a backpacking trip into the wilderness. From planning, hiking, camping and returning, learn why leave no trace techniques are important to the future of the wilderness. This class will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Seminar Room. 8: Tulsa Fly Fishers Meeting at the Martin Regional Library located 2601 South Garnett. Meeting starts at 7 p.m. Bill Butts from Springfield, MO will be our guest speaker. His passion is fishing for strippers, hybrids, and white bass, and he travels the 4 state area in pursuit of them. He has given white bass seminars at Backcountry Outfitters in Springfield, and will also be doing a presentation at the Smallmouth Rendezvous. Mr. Butts is also recognized as a respected writer and speaker across America, when it comes to fly fishing for stripers Bill Butts is one of the best. He's been seen by many local anglers fishing the Arkansas River right here in Tulsa as it is one of his favorites for big stripers. This meeting is for Tulsa Fly fishers, Trout Unlimited Chapter 420 & The Federation Of FlyFishers. We invite all who may have an interest in flyfishing or learning more about flyfishing. General Public is Welcome! 9: Bowhunter Education Class at Panhandle State University, Goodwell. The class runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information contact Max Crocker at (580) 651-9134. 10: Tulsa Fly Fishers, Trout Unlimited and Federation of FlyFishers outing to Lake Pawhuska. For more information contact Billy Howard at (918) 259-5287 or (918) 282-7621. 10: Wildflower Walk at Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. A casual walk will be enjoyed at two or three stops in order to identify wildflowers located in a variety of habitats. Each tour will last approximately two and one half hours. Due to the length of the program, children must be at least eight years of age to participate. A $5.00 reservation fee per participant will be collected at the beginning of the tour. Reservations will be retained until ten minutes prior to the beginning of the tour. After that time, standbys will be accepted. If the bus seating is filled after accepting standbys, late arrivals with reservations will not be able to participate in the program. The bus will depart promptly at 10:00 a.m. Reservations are accepted on a first come, first served basis and may be made by telephoning the Visitor Center on the following line only: (580) 429-3222. 10: National Wild Turkey Federation Red River Limbhangers chapter fundraising banquet will be held at Heritage Hall, Ardmore from 6-10 p.m. For more information contact Brian McDaniel at (580) 369-5222. 10: Post Spawn/Topwater Action fishing workshop at Broken Arrow Bass Shop. Bass Pro Shop Fishing Staff will show how to look for post spawn fish and the baits to utilize when this occurs. They will also show when to start looking at topwater baits in which ones to use at different times. Tank demo begins at 7:00 p.m. 12: Eastern Oklahoma Branch of Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) meeting at Johnnies Charboiler (5001 South Harvard, North side of I-44. This class will be taught by our Camping Specialist who's hiked their way every where. Learn the basics of backpacking from short day hikes to multi-day backpacking trips. From choosing your pack to gearing out for safety and comfort, come learn how to make your backpacking trip an enjoyable experience. The class will start at 7:00pm in Seminar Room. 15: Structure Fishing workshop at the Broken Arrow Bass Pro shop. This class will teach you what lure to use and what structure to fish during the summer. Meet at the Fish Aquarium at 7:00 p.m.

Youth who have completed their hunter education certification are invited to participate. Bass Pro Shops Marine experts will cover fish finder install and how to properly read a fish finder. It will begin at 7:00pm in the Seminar Room. 18: Woodward Archers 3-D Shoot. Camping Kate teaches you all about cooking in the great outdoors. Learn everything from Pie Iron to Dutch Oven and Foil Pack Cooking.
