Applications Open for Summer Wildlife Youth Camp

21st Annual Wildlife Youth Camp

June 23-28, 2019

OU Biological Station

     The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation will hold its annual Wildlife Youth Camp June 23-28 at Lake Texoma. The camp is competitively open to Oklahoma residents 14-16 years old who have an interest in wildlife conservation or wildlife law enforcement. Courses include ropes course, rifle and shotgun shooting, archery, self-defense, wildlife and fisheries management, and guided fishing trips.

     Applicants must be Oklahoma residents who will be 14 to 16 years old as of June 23, 2019. Prospective campers must fill out an application form and write a 75-word essay describing why they want to attend the camp, why they should be selected and what they expect to learn. Also they must furnish a letter of recommendation from someone other than a family member, and a recent photograph showing the applicant participating in an outdoor-related event or activity.
