Pond Name: Sherry Lake Surface Acres: 110 Acres Avg. Depth: 2ft Location: North side of Tulsa- Exit hwy 11 on Sheridan and turn North to 36th Street turn east to Mohawk Park entrance Operator: City of Tulsa Parks and Recreation Public Use Facilities: Sherry Lake is located in Mohawk Park. There are several good picnic areas with restrooms, trails, and the Tulsa Zoo. These facilities are within a short drive of the lake. There is a parking lot and trash receptacles near the lake. Lake Sherry is located inside Oxley Nature Center wildlife sanctuary. It is not part of the zoo. There are 11 miles of hiking only trails. Photography, birding, butterfly watching, relaxing, etc are encouraged, biking, horse riding and other consumptive uses discouraged. At this point fisherman must hike at least a half a mile to fish there. Notable Characteristics: This lake has a very limited fishing access and is very shallow, 2 ft average. It is a wonderful watchable wildlife area. Another plus is with a worm and a small hook you are about guaranteed a fish. Lake has the best orangespot sunfish population in northeast Oklahoma.
