Fishing Reports

We know that fishing in Oklahoma can be good nearly all year round but the peak time for most species and anglers is March to June, which is when we require reports to be submitted. If there is a particular lake you would like to know about during the non-required report time you can contact the county game warden or a local bait shop to check on the lake conditions before heading out.

Comments: High water again this week so fishing in the main lake is still tricky. Fish flooded coves with worms, shad, or cut bait for Catfish. But tailwater fishing is phenomenal! Below Fort Gibson Dam anglers are catching Crappie in slower water with jigs and minnows, White Bass and Hybrids are being caught in the current with large plastics and topwater. Paddlefish being caught below the dam and up the river at Lowwater. Blue Catfish doing great at those 2 places as well with shad or cut bait.

Comments: white/black crappie has been slower due to the fluctuations in the lake/river levels from the runoff out of KS and MO (heavy rains/flooding).
Live bait- minnows and jigs- tube/hair(black, pink, white colors) have been the preferred action.

Grand Lake levels are falling and becoming stable due to the discharge. Lots of debris in the main lake. Navigation may be tricky.
