Deer Hunting 101 Workshop ~ August 24, 2019
Oklahoma Conservation & Hunting Groups Announce Deer Hunting Workshop for Hunters
In a collaborative effort area conservation and hunting organizations are presenting the 2019 Deer Hunting 101 Workshop at H&H Shooting Sports on August 24, 2019. The workshop will assemble subject matter experts who will coach attendees in a variety of basic deer hunting tactics and strategies. New and novice hunters will learn from over one-hundred years of collective hunting experience in the seven and one-half hour workshop.
Rick Nolan, a National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) volunteer and workshop instructor said, “We are at a critical juncture for the future of our hunting heritage. Nationwide, hunter numbers are declining. Because hunters pay for wildlife and habitat conservation, much work is to be done to recruit new hunters, retain active hunters and reactivate hunters to sustain our wildlife habitat. The volunteers who are presenting the workshop recognize there are many Oklahoman’s who want to learn to hunt, however they don’t have the benefit of a trusted friend, family member or colleague to mentor them. This workshop will provide them with the tools needed to get started on the right foot and improve their hunting experience.”
Multiple local Oklahoma NWTF Chapters, Quail Forever and the Oklahoma Blood Trackers are pooling resources and utilizing a volunteer-powered network to bring the workshop to Oklahoma City on August 24, 2019. H&H Shooting Sports will provide the venue. Class size is limited to 30 participants and the cost of tuition and lunch is $25 per person.
