Packsaddle WMA "Open House"

You and your family are invited to learn about public land hunting while also sharpening your wing-shooting skills at a free event hosted by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. Join us at Packsaddle Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Saturday, Sept. 16 from 8 a.m. to noon to learn wing-shooting techniques at the WMA’s newly built shooting range, hear about how to hunt Oklahoma's public land, and get the inside scoop on hunting Packsaddle WMA. Following the event, participants will be given a tour of the area.

Registration for the event is limited to 60 people. Lunch will be provided by the nonprofit group, Oklahoma Hunters & Anglers (OHA). The OHA’s mission is to serve Oklahoma’s sportsmen and women by enhancing Oklahoma’s wildlife and fishery resources, our hunting and fishing heritage, and the conservation efforts of those who value our states fish and wildlife resources.

We encourage you to stay and camp at any of the six designated primitive camping areas. With dove season being open, it will be a good opportunity to put your new wing-shooting skills to use.
