Tackle the basics of fishing this summer at a free, adult-focused fishing clinic hosted by experts from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation.

Our Tackle the Basics adult fishing clinics are being held weekly throughout the summer in Oklahoma City and Jenks, so all you have to do is choose your date, signup, and show up!

We’re hosting these clinics weekly at the Arcadia Conservation Education Area near Edmond and at the Zebco Pond at the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks. Part of our Tackle the Basics summer fishing clinic series, these low-key educational events are the perfect way to learn everything you need to know to get started fishing.

Oklahoma offers extensive fishing opportunities, even if you are just getting started. And while it’s not complex or expensive, the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation is making it even easier. At our Tackle the Basics clinics, we're stripping away the complexity of fishing to teach you the fundamentals: casting techniques, gear and bait selection, and safe fish handling. Zero experience is required, and perfect for beginners.

We supply all the gear, including the rods, reels, and bait. Tackle the Basics fishing clinics are led by ODWC professionals, so you’ll learn directly from the experts.

The slate of summer courses is listed below. They are free to attend and space is limited.

Unlock your inner angler and learn to fish the local waters through the ODWC’s Tackle the Basics fishing clinics. Click below on the clinic date for more information and to sign up.
