Since 2016, the Wildlife Department's donor-funded Stars & Stripes License Project has provided hunting and fishing licenses to resident veterans and select family members. The donated licenses come at no cost to eligible sportsmen, and in turn help maintain funding for wildlife conservation programs that benefit all Oklahomans. It's just a small way for the outdoor community to partner with the Wildlife Department to say "thank you" to these heroes.

The Stars & Stripes License Project pays for hunting and/or fishing licenses for Oklahoma residents who are eligible veterans and those holding Gold Star lapel buttons and Next of Kin Deceased Personnel lapel buttons.

As mentioned, the Stars & Stripes Project operates strictly on donations. As long as there are donated funds available, the program continues to accept applications and buy licenses for successful applicants. The number of licenses awarded each year depends on the total amount of donations received.

All donations to the Stars & Stripes License Project are tax-deductible. Please consider giving back to those who served by donating today. Making a donation as small as $5 to the Stars & Stripes License Project is easy. Just click on the link below. To apply for a license through the Stars and Stripes program, log into your Go Outdoors Oklahoma profile and select “Purchase Licenses,” then select the Stars & Stripes application from the catalog.

The Wildlife Department receives no state appropriated funds, so this project allows us to show appreciation to our veterans while maintaining revenue that supports important wildlife conservation in the state.
