Bell Cow Lake

Attention Non-Residents

The Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission adopted new rules in 2025 that require non-residents accessing certain Oklahoma public hunting and fishing areas to check in and out of the area. By checking in and out of these areas, hunters, anglers, shooters, birdwatchers, hikers and any other users can help the Wildlife Department better understand how the area is being used. There is no additional cost associated with checking in or out of an area. There is no limit to the number of check ins for an individual in a year.

Bell Cow Lake was constructed in 1990 by the City of Chandler and was opened to fishing in the fall of 1993. In the past, high turbidity and limited aquatic vegetation resulted in poor bass recruitment and low abundance.  Introductions of aquatic vegetation were made in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Florida Largemouth Bass were stocked periodically from 1991 to 2006 to introduce Florida Largemouth Bass genetics.  Currently Bell Cow lake is being managed as a trophy bass fishery with only one Largemouth Bass over 22 inches per day may be kept.

Bell Cow Lake is being managed as a trophy bass fishery by means of a city-imposed 22” minimum length limit. Largemouth Bass are stocked periodically.

Boat docks are ADA compliant.
