Spring Turkey

Spring Turkey License Requirements

Resident Youth (unless exempt):

  • Youth Annual Super Hunting License

Resident (unless exempt):

  • Resident Annual Hunting License, and
  • Resident Spring Turkey License

Nonresident Youth (unless exempt):

  • Nonresident Youth 5-day Super Hunting or 
  • Youth Annual Super Hunting License

Nonresident (unless exempt):

  • Nonresident Annual Hunting License, and
  • Nonresident Spring Turkey License

*** The adult nonresident 5-day hunting license is not valid for hunting turkey.
 

Nonresident lifetime license holders: Must purchase a nonresident annual hunting license and turkey license.

 


 

Legal Means of Taking

  • Archery: Equipment described as legal for big game. See Big Game Regulations.
  • Shotgun: Conventional or muzzleloading, using shot no larger than BB (.180 of an inch in diameter) are legal.
  • Illegal Firearms: Rifles and handguns may not be used during the spring seasons.

Youth Spring Turkey

Statewide.

  • One (1) tom turkey statewide regardless of method of take.

A turkey taken during the youth spring season counts toward the regular spring turkey season limit of one turkey.

Spring Turkey

-

Statewide.

  • One (1) tom turkey; harvest of non-bearded turkeys is prohibited.

 


 

Youth Spring Turkey Information

Age Requirements

17 years old and younger. All youth hunters must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. The adult may not hunt or possess any archery equipment or firearms.

Season Limit

  • One tom turkey statewide regardless of method of take.

A turkey taken during the youth spring season counts toward the regular spring turkey season limit of one turkey.
