Fishing Reports

We know that fishing in Oklahoma can be good nearly all year round but the peak time for most species and anglers is March to June, which is when we require reports to be submitted. If there is a particular lake you would like to know about during the non-required report time you can contact the county game warden or a local bait shop to check on the lake conditions before heading out.

Greenleaf Report

Apr 21. Elevation is Normal (stable), water temperature 60°F and clear.

Bass, Largemouth Fair on crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits around docks, points, weed beds.

Crappie, Black, Crappie, White Fair on hair jigs, jigs, minnows around brush structure, docks, rocks, shallows, shorelines.

Catfish, Channel Good on chicken liver, worms around docks, flats, points.

Tenkiller Report

Apr 21. Elevation is 1 ft. above normal (stable), water temperature 62°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level)

Bass, White Fair on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, in-line spinnerbaits, small lures, tube jigs around coves, creek channels, river mouth.

Catfish, Blue, Catfish, Channel Fair on cut bait, shad, stinkbait around channels, main lake, river channel.

Comments: White Bass is still hit-and-miss around Horseshoe Bend and Etta Bend. Better success can be found in coves and creek channels down the lake and around Caney and Dry Creek. Crappie anglers are also reporting that they are hit-and-miss around the docks and brush. They should be getting closer to moving closer to the banks soon. With the weather forecast to warm up this week, fishing should get better.

Texoma Report

Catfish, Blue, Catfish, Channel, Catfish, Flathead Fair on chicken liver, cut bait, dough bait, live bait, live shad, punch bait, stinkbait.

Crappie, Black, Crappie, White Fair on caddis flies, hair jigs, jigs, minnows, nymphs around brush structure, channels, coves, docks, points, standing timber.

Comments: Fishing has been good this week. Striper are biting on live shad very well right. Located on ledges and points. Catfish are biting on live and cut bait. Crappie are biting in 6-14ft of water on jigs and minnows near brush piles and timber.
